“Model Home” Paperweight

Objective: A mortgage banking group needed a moderately-sized, upscale metal house with magnet to use as a game piece on a metal standing Monopoly board.  The board was to be used at an industry trade show to attract visitors to the booth to visit and play Monopoly.

Strategy: The distributor presented the IMC-P333 “Model Home,” a paperweight, customized overseas in a smaller version, in high-polished nickel with a felt bottom.  International Merchandise Concepts replaced the felt base with a magnet.  This allowed the distributor to present an imprinted house capable of being used as a game piece on the metal standing Monopoly board.

Results: The mortgage banking group loved the idea and during the industry trade show had trouble keeping them on the board, not because of the magnet, but because everyone wanted to take one home.
