MoMA Click Ball Perpetual Calendar - (M-CL81)
Objective: A major software manufacturer wanted to generate publicity and anticipation for the launch of their latest software. They wanted a product to aptly show how far the world had come and to also heighten excitement as the release date neared.
Strategy: The distributor chose the MoMA Click Ball Perpetual Calendar. The manual aspect of the push button calendar and the decidedly retro look were perfect to show the lengths the world has changed with computers. The distributor further suggested they place the calendar at every point-of-sale position with signage marking the countdown to the release date. They felt co-branding with a Museum of Modern Art piece had a natural rapport with the new, modern software.
Result: All point-of-sale positions around the country reported an increasing interest in the new release as the date approached and combined with sales reps available to answer questions about the release, the software company exceeded their early sales predictions.
